What sponsored content is

Sponsored content is paid for by an advertiser and produced by the Cali Reporter partner studio. It exists because advertisers want to reach our readers with more than a banner, and it exists openly: every sponsored article is labeled Sponsored Content at the top and bottom of the page, on a tinted background that is visually distinct from our editorial design.

What we promise readers

Sponsored articles are never styled to pass as news coverage. They do not appear under our section eyebrows as editorial, they are marked Sponsored on every card and listing where they appear, and they name the sponsor. Editorial decisions are made without regard to who advertises with us.

What we promise sponsors

A well written feature, an honest label, and placement in front of a real readership. We reserve the right to decline sponsored content that conflicts with our standards or that would mislead readers.

Banner advertising

Display banners on the site are marked with an Ad label and link to the advertiser with standard campaign parameters. We serve our house ads directly; no third party trackers run on this site.
