The SacRT system is getting a major upgrade in the River District. Officials say the new Dos Rios Light Rail Station will open to the public on Monday, September 28, 2026. This new stop sits right on the Blue Line which runs along North 12th Street between Richards Boulevard and Sunbeam Avenue in Sacramento. It is a key addition for the neighborhood.

For folks living in the growing River District and those visiting the area, this change brings better transit options. The station is specifically designed to help residents of several new affordable housing communities and local workers get around. It fits right in between the Globe station and the Alkali Flat/La Valentina station on the rail map. This location helps bridge the gap for people who need to get to work or visit friends.

Once the doors open, Sacramento’s light rail network will officially have 53 stations. The service plans call for trains running every 15 minutes during the peak times and every 30 minutes during the early mornings and evenings. SacRT officials note that construction on this station began all the way back in November 2024. To keep up with the changes and see the Blue Line schedule, riders can look at the official information.

The new Dos Rios Station adds another vital link in the chain for everyone trying to get from point A to point B without driving. It is a big step for the infrastructure here.
